Trent Wuster, poet

Born and raised in New England, where long cold winters and a lack of siblings contributed to a love of books at an early age, Morgan Sylvia has been writing since the age of seven. At seventeen, she began work on an epic fantasy series that, to this day, refuses to stop growing. Shortly after graduating from high school, she moved to Florida to study sound engineering, and promptly became immersed in the local metal music scene. She is currently working on a poetry collection and putting the finishing touches on a fantasy novel, after which she plans to write a screenplay, and finish the series.

LOVE AND CHAINS

Dark passion traps me
with iron chains and silver spoons
violent rage and then a song to soothe
flesh on nails, tearing
Pull me back from the edge
Bring me to life
then you kill me inside
with silken dreams and velvet cries

Bind me bind my dreams
  like you chain the tiger
safe but never free
Why didn't I see before the blade cut me
soul deep
Poison the well poison my soul poison my life
show me anger show me rage show me pain
show me myself again
Maybe somewhere in this sadness I can still dream
Maybe somewhere in this madness I can find myself again

Dark passion traps me
with silver chains and iron rules
silent rage and then a song so cruel
flesh on nails, tearing
Push me back to the edge
set me on fire
but you are cold as ice inside
with shattered dreams and velvet lies
whispered seduction

bind me bind my dreams
  like you chain the tiger
safe but never free
why didn't I see before the chains touched me
soul deep

Poison the well poison my whole being poison my mind
show me anger show me rage show me pain
show me myself again
maybe somewhere in this madness I can still dream
maybe somewhere in this sadness I can find myself again

GARDEN OF STONE

You fade into darkness
where I cannot follow
slipped away into shadows
where I cannot go
Always thought there was time
but the story ended too soon
the way they all do
     in death
I am left behind
Alone and haunted
One more dream turned to stone before my eyes
And in a world gone black
I find myself alone

I hate the grave they put you in
and I hate to think of what could have been
But I remember that day
among the spiders and the butterflies
in the Garden of memories
Garden of death
Garden of stone
When they put you in the ground
I felt your soul dissolve into the summer sky
Those pale blue eyes now shut forever
A few words scratched upon a tombstone
Another wound slashed into my soul

Never think about existence
until the earth swallows someone you love
Never think about mortality
until the cemetery calls someone close

You wait in the darkness
where there are no tomorrows
A ghost in the shadows
that haunt my soul
Always thought it was fate
drew us so close so soon
but maybe I always knew
     it was death
I am left behind,
alone and haunted
One more dream turned to stone before my eyes
And in a world gone black
I find myself alone

ETERNITY

Winds whisper to me
   of aeons faded, swept away
into oblivion
Age and serenity shrouded in grief
and legends immortal
dreaming in death's sleep

Waves crash their endless song
   on the rocky shore
holding necronomicon dreams
   so close
 so distant
What are we but fools, shadows and dust
in the void we call universe

What are we but ghosts
that have not yet died

Fires breathing free
   eternal flame so great
so forgotten
Ancient power, momentary and brief
a legend immortal
dreaming of death's sleep

Winds cry their endless song
   on the rocky shore
holding necronomicon dreams
   so close
so distant

ICE

I saw a shadow dancing in the moonlight
I saw a raven flying through the sky
I saw a ghost dreaming in the sunlight
I saw a dead man smile
Broken
and pale

So cold these moments
Like a needle pushing ice
Into my skin
So broken these notions
of serenity
I freeze in the sunshine

I am the singer in a cold lonely room
I am the dreamer whose dreams have all gone
I am the dancer in the golden nightmare
I am the winter moon
Frozen
and pale

So old these portents
Like a needle pushing ice
Into my soul
So I've frozen emotion
and memories
I dream in the sunshine

THE SHAME OF THE ROSE

Shattered existence
leaves a mosaic of shards
in the shape of a rose
I ask the dreaming sibyl
ask the wind
ask the stars
Am I the candle
or am I the fire

Butterflies dance on poison ivy
Laughter echoes through the trees
I raise my face to the paling sun
I am eternal
I am alone

Scattered resistance
the things we have done
in the name of the rose
I ask the dreaming sibyl
ask the mist
ask the fire
Am I the water
or am I the jar

TSCIFAIKU

Ghost ships coasting
Past the bones of silent stations
Still dancing in orbit

At the window port I watch
Silent dances of a neutron star
and galaxies sliding past

Slitted yellow eyes
catch the light of a broken moon
Slithering shadows move

Crossing night's abyss
In liquid sleep I dream
of alien ruins and crystal keys

Moons of fire, moons of rain
Dance in a violet haze
Andromeda Six, again

Starlight's prism shards
Altherian deserts burn like ice
Beneath a triple sun

NEMESIS DIVINE

Fires rage on silver lakes
the sky bleeds ash
and weeping rain
Staring at the clouds like burning ice
I see oblivion
the nemesis divine

Dreams of confusion in your past
awaken now, my dear
Sort it all out
Remember the war remember the sword
and the ones who are gone
Remember now
Recall

the world never stays the same for long
snakes in the grass sing to the sun
Of death and triumph
Of life and tragedy
We raised the stakes while you were sleeping
knowing
  you wouldn't even care

Never crossed the line of sedition
Unspoken words still raging in your head
they are waiting for you now, my dear
Sort it all out
Remember the war remember the sword
Later I'll tell you of the ones who are gone
Remember now
Recall

Storm rages on silver rains
Cries for a bleeding god
world gone insane
Staring at the stars like pieces of ice
I see oblivion
the nemesis divine

BLACK SABBATH

The fire screams
A waking dream
Blackness rising
Opens the doors of night
feed the dreams
Visions of what may come
Your flesh shall crawl
Ride the beast into the stars
the time of angels is done
When heaven falls
Burn with me

Drown the sun in tears
As blood runs into the earth
Crawl across the sky
On the wings of broken gods
Redemption or oblivion
choose now
death comes
choose well

The pyres bleed
a fading scream
Darkness shining
Opens the fury of night
fear the dreams
Visions of what may be
Your flesh shall crawl
Ride the beast into the storm
the time of angels is done
When heaven calls
Burn with me
